He was predeceased by: his parents, Baudouin Verhaegen and Anne-Michelle Verhaegen; and his sister Chantal Verhaegen. He is survived by: his wife Milka Verhaegen (Petrovich) of Princeton; his children, Samuel Verhaegen, Nathalie Emerle (Colin Emerle) and Anna Verhaegen; and his sisters, Beatrice De Patoul (Verhaegen) and Helene Buchen (Verhaegen). He is also survived by nephews, nieces, and cousins.
The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to the Eden Autism Foundation or Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
