She was predeceased by: her parents, Florence Emily (Beasley) and Samuel Thomas Tanner; her husband Edward J. Brakowski Sr.; her daughter Annette Brakowski; and her siblings, June, Carole, Ronald and Patricia.

She is survived by: her children, Elaine Eltringham (Mark) of Red Bank, Edward J. Brakowski Jr. of Iselin and Barbara Tofte (Rick) of Hazlet; her siblings, Gerald Tanner (Shirley) of England, Madeline Terrett (Ivo) of England and Christine Welsh (Tom) of England; her grandchildren, Samantha Grabowski (Evan), Lauren Eltringham, Scott Eltringham, Cymbaline DiPol and Ainsley Tofte; and her great grandchild Fae Grabowski.

In lieu of flowers, donations in loving memory of Sonia to the American Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
