She was loved and cherished by many people including: her father Thomas Cook, Jr.; her godmother Kubiedeen Cook; her grandparents, Thomas Cook, Mavis Cook (McGuire), Samuel Cross and Gertrude Cross (Stallings); her husband Percy L. Brown; her children, Zarifah Muhammad, Sherifah Muhammad, Ali Muhammad and Logan Brown; her mother Willie Mae Cook; her sister Samira Cook Gaines (Gregory); her mother-in-law Mary Drake-Brown; her brothers-in-law, Vincent Brown and Terrance Brown; her godmothers, Lillie Ijalana, Godsister, Tashina McNamara (Michael) and Precious; her goddaughters, Chastity McNamara and Phoenix Jones; her aunt Joyce Jones; her uncle Pete Cook; and her great-nephew Zaki Muhammad. She was also cherished by cousins, dear friends.

She dedicated many years in the field of Healthcare and Human Services supporting uninsured patients by providing access to charity care and medical resources.
