He was predeceased by : his parents, Carol Speed Scott and Deester Scott; his brothers, Deester Scott, Jr. (Butch), William Scott (Peewee), Raymond Scott (Squat) and Lewis Scott (Frog); and his son Darell Nickerson.

He is survived by : his siblings, Iona, Carol Scott, Alfred, Henry and David Scott; and his children, Omar and Kamillah Wingfield. He is also survived by nephews and nieces.
