It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Robert Haswell Ewing of Scotch Plains, New Jersey, born in Nashville, Tennessee, who passed away on December 13, 2021, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred James Ewing, Sr. and Jettie Renee Ewing-Gibbs (Haswell); and his siblings, Fred James Ewing Jr. (Lillie), Lillian Cornelia Ewing and Jewel Marlene Porter.
He is survived by: his sister Avis Reid-Newbold of Carrollton, TX; his sister-in-law Lillie Ewing; and his nieces and nephews, Fred J Ewing III, E. Melvin Porter Jr., Joel A. Porter (Latonya), Donna Denson, Deborah Hutson (Anthony), Maria Ewing and Carolyn Ewing. He is also survived by nephews, nieces and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Fisk University in Memory of Robert H. Ewing.
