He was predeceased by: his parents, Anthony V. Scalanga and Susie Scalanga Forlenza; his daughter Kaitlyn; and his niece Lisa. He is survived by: his wife Kimberly; his children, Susan Vega (Tony), John Scalanga (Katie), Heather Wagner and Samantha Castro; his grandchildren, John Sloan, Matthew Sloan, Gabriel Vega, Gavin Vega, Victoria Scalanga, Teresa Scalanga, Juliette Scalanga and Peter Scalanga; his brother John Scalanga (Josephine); and his close friend Oscar. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Lustgarten Foundation Pancreatic Cancer Research.
