He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Harvard Deininger and Mary Deininger; his wife Nancy; his children, Samantha (Kenneth), Jennifer (Christopher) and Andrew (Gaby); his siblings, David Deininger and Maryjo Thrun; his sister-in-law Rosalie Demartino (Joe); and his pet Tony. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews and friends.

Robert made regular donations to various charities through the years.
