She was loved and cherished by many people including: her son-in-law Keith Bowen, Jr; her husband William Byrd; her children, Kristin Shope (Toby), Jeremy Byrd (Ange) and Lauren Bowen; her siblings, Marybeth James (Kim), John Elliott (Esther), Herschel Elliott, Jr (Marcia) and Sharon Powell (James); and her grandchildren, Carter, Jackson, Jayden, Alex and Hattison.
