He was predeceased by: his parents, George McConnell and Ann McConnell; and his siblings, George, Robert, Thomas, Charles McConnell, Ann Marie Miller and Patricia Dixon.
He is survived by: his wife Marguerite McConnell; his children, James McConnell, Jessica McConnell, Brian Boland (Krystal) and Meghan Boland; his grandchildren, Mia, Braedon and Blake; and his sisters-in-law, Mary, Harmony and Vera McConnell.
