He is survived by: his wife Yenia Alvarez; his son Urbano Alvarez-Diaz; his daughter-in-law Lena Liberman (Polaca); his daughters, Yaznie Alvarez-Tullo and Yesinne Alvarez; and his grandchildren, Katya Alvarez-Rodrigues, Alessandro Alvarez-Tullo, Sofia Alvarez and Ava Alvarez.
