He was predeceased by: his son Jorge Luis Gillis. He is survived by: his wife Maria Luisa Gillis; his son Joseph M. Gillis (Eulalia); his siblings, Rolando Gillis (Mercedes), Miriam Soler (Jose Ramon) and Concepcion Alvarado (Jorge); and his grandchildren, Sarah Gillis, Rachel Gillis (Molly) and Brad Gillis. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
