We are sad to announce that on December 17, 2021, at the age of 69, Marie Mate (Union, New Jersey), born in Brooklyn, New York passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her sister Kathleen Maffa (Frank); and her parents, Alphonse Galea and Concetta Galea. She is survived by: her husband Joseph; her daughters, Andrea Flynn (Brendan) and Lisa Mate (Russell); her grandchildren, Jack, Nora, Liam, Benjamin and Sarah; her sister Theresa Dovi (Sal); and her sibling's children, Anthony Dovi (Gina), Christina Maffa-Johnson (Niels Johnson), Stefanie Parry (Brandon) and Connie Tucci (Raymond).
In lieu of flowers, donations in Marie's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105) or Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (P.O. Box 27106, New York, NY 10087-7106).
