He was predeceased by: his wife Theresa; his parents, Lafayette E. Greening and Reha L. Greening (Beers); and his brother John Jacob "Jack" Greening. He is survived by: his children, Terri, Gary R. Greening (Jackie) of Lewes, DE, Thomas A. Greening (Traci) and Spring; his grandchildren, John N. Greening (Maggie) of Media, PA, Valerie Aiken (Joe) of Voorhees, NJ, Gary R. Greening II (Courtney) of Hagerstown, MD, David Wasserstein (Joelle), Katie Lee Wasserstein (Samir) of Hershey, PA, Ashley Greening and Spring; his great grandchildren, Edie, Francis, Gus Greening of Media, PA, Leo, Patrick, Johnny Mac, Theodore Greening of Hagerstown, MD, Ava and Joseph Aiken of Voorhees, NJ; his siblings-in-law, Dolores Padden, Geraldine Nish Scotrun (Peter), Roberta Valonis of Annapolis, MD and Gerald Valonis (Ann); and his children, Carmen, Jeanette, Tiffany, Glenda and Kim. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Mother of God Parish at Holy Rosary Church (316 William St, Scranton, PA 18508). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
