He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Marie-Louise Aerts and Henri Aerts; his children, Ericson Aerts, Elie Sullivan, Lila Kurtin and Evan Kurtin; his grandchildren, Masaki Aerts, Liam Sullivan, Maya Aerts, Dylan Sullivan and Kai Metzger; his close friend Genevieve Ogor; and his cousins, Claude Vandervelde, Nicole Black and Claudine Aerts.
