He was predeceased by: his sons, Steven Roy Perez and Walter Perez; and his brother Edgardo Chacon. He is survived by: his wife Nazaria Eda Perez; his siblings, Celia Perez and Rolando Morales; his siblings' children, Lidia Santamaria (Richard Jimenez), Glenda, Isela, Mayela and Jose "Chepito" Luis Rivera; and his daughter Jeanette Thompson.
