He is survived by: his wife Rose Christine Alex; his children, Vivienne and Steven Alex (Marissa); his grandchildren, Lauren Farquhar, Erin Farquhar-Smith (Ray), Marina Alex and Anthony Alex; his great grandchild Hazzard Farquhar; and his nephew George Andrews.
