He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward and Gala; his sister Linda Tinney; his son Robert Edward II; and his nephew David Mulligan.

He is survived by: his wife Sally; his grandchildren, Matthew Kopin, Adam Kopin, Kimberly Kopin (Lindsay Wanko), Sydney Slusak, Stephen Slusak and Sean Slusak; Elizabeth Kopin (Keith), Amy Slusak (Steve) and Jean Mulligan (Robert).
