The memory of Anita Scherfel in Wildwood, New Jersey, born in Westville, New Jersey, who passed away on August 6, 2025 at the age of 100, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her husband Daniel Scherfel; her grandson Ryne Sigmund; and her siblings, Rose Coniglio, Pat Rossi, Jean Cahill and Elaine Bruce.
She is survived by: her children, Stephen Scherfel and Debra Sigmund (Warren); her grandchildren, Luke Scherfel, Dolan Scherfel and Lauren Sigmund McNulty (Brian); her son Chad Heitzmann (Brooke); her great grandchildren, Evalyn, Benjamin and Danny; her siblings, Carmen Rossi (late Connie), Joseph Rossi (late Priscilla), Gloria Mariano (late Bill) and Diane Nickerson (Dan); and her brother-in-law John Bruce.
Visitation was held on Thursday, August 14th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Budd Funeral Home (522 Salem Ave, Woodbury, NJ 08096). A graveside service was held on Thursday, August 14th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the New St. Mary's Cemetery (515 W Browning Rd, Bellmawr, NJ 08031).
Anita loved all animals; in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Animal Orphanage of Voorhees, P.O. Box 1363, 419 Cooper Road, Voorhees, New Jersey, or to any animal shelter of the donor's choice.
