He was predeceased by: his sibling Gale Nichols. He is survived by: his wife Judy; his children, Dave Engler (Sherry), Jeff Engler (Fran), Colleen Croge (Mike), Lynn Selfridge and Leslee Engler; and his sister Mary Lou Karkuff.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Veterans Memorial Home.
