He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley Swift and Marie Swift; and his siblings, Arthur, Stanley, Peter Swift and Mary Stroem.

He is survived by: his wife Rosemarie Swift of Anne's Roman Catholic Church; his children, James Swift, Jr., Christine Swift and Joshua Swift; and his grandchildren, Jimmy, Sebastian Swift, Dylan Swift and Charlotte Swift.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are encouraged to be sent to the American Cancer Society.
