With solemn reverence, we commemorate Kevin Barry Oates Jr. (Wyckoff, New Jersey), whose life came to an end on July 5, 2025 at the age of 78, leaving behind cherished memories. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
As we bid Kevin farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Kevin is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Joan Oates; his daughters, Marian, Maureen, Lorna and Colleen; and his close friend Joan.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 9th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (257 Godwin Ave, Wyckoff, NJ 07481). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Elizabeth RC Church (700 Wyckoff Ave, Wyckoff, NJ 07481).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Kevin's honor to the Marian R. Oates '90 Memorial Scholarship at the University of Scranton at the University Advancement office, 800 Linden Street, Scranton, PA 18510.
