He was predeceased by : his parents, Giovanni Azara and Catherine Spair; his wife Dorothy B. Zara; his close friend Geraldine "Geri" Ahern; and his sister Angie.
He is survived by : his daughter Dawn (James Romano); his siblings, Connie Azara, Mary Frascella, Carmine "Gump" Azara, Fred "Moe" Azara, Michael "Mikey" Azara, Gracie Esposito, Jennie Pfeiffer and Anthony "Doc" Azara; his children, Donna (David Hurley) and John A. (Dorothy E. Zara III); his grandchildren, James Romano III, Alyssa Zara, Lauren Romano and John A. Zara IV; his siblings, Josephine Mangiapane, Joseph Zara and Daniel Azara (Linda); his sister-in-law Paula Azara; and also, Vincent DiCanio, Michelle, Walt Apgar of Florida, Lauren, Michael, Matthew Apgar, Kathleen and Avery Huston. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriner's Hospital of Philadelphia or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
