He was predeceased by : his sister Gloria Elaine Piper; his parents, Edwin E. Piper, Sr. and Lola Scott Piper; and his stepson Frank "Pancho" Wells. He is survived by : his wife Elsie Rael Piper; his daughter Lauren Scott Piper; his grandchildren, Maddie Franco Bauer (Dave) and Grant Franco; his brother Richard A. Piper; his stepdaughters, Kathie Wells Chavez (Dennis) and Penny Wells Shannen (Tom); and his grandchildren, Mike King, Kristin Dawe, Elisha Wells, Erica Chavez Webster and Amanda Chavez. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren.
