We are sad to announce that on November 21, 2022, at the age of 93, John Ashby Yates of Artesia, New Mexico passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Martin Yates Jr. and Mary Emmons Yates; his former life partner Peggy A. Yates; his son Martin R. Yates; his stepson Greg Bannister; and his brothers, Harvey E. Yates, Martin Yates III (Bitsy) and S. P. Yates.

He is survived by : his brother Saint Peyton; his wife Charlotte G. Yates; his children, Cynthia Price (Lester) and John A. Yates, Jr. (Nancy); his stepson Scott Bannister (Teri); his grandchildren, Nicole Wesselmann (Lane), Ryan Price (Safae), Sean Price (Lacey), Jeff Price (Allie), John A. Yates III (Lexie), Jeff Bannister (Tammy), Johnathon Bannister (Lynann), Brian Bannister (Elva), Wesley Bannister, Shelby Bannister Garcia (Esteban) and Wilson Bannister; and his great grandchildren, Zoe Wesselmann, Alice Wesselmann, Carter Price, Hayes Price, John A. Yates IV, Ashby Yates, Morgan Bannister, Payshence Bannister, Aliah Bannister, Jonalynn Bannister, Nickolas Bannister, Riley Garcia and Ruby Garcia.
