He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Owen and Ruby Owen; his grandsons, Josh Owens and Steven Lewis; and his sister Betty Martin.
He is survived by: his wife Dorris Owen of Carlsbad, NM; his children, Tammy Smith of Carlsbad, NM, John Owen (Susan) of Carlsbad, NM, Don Owen (Kelly) of Carlsbad, NM, Ron Owen of Albuquerque, NM and Eddie Owen (Cathy) of Winchester, VA; and his brother Billy Owen of Carlsbad, NM. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren.
In Lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions be made in his name to the Lakeview Christian Home Hospice: 1300 N. Canal St., Carlsbad, NM 88220.
