We are sad to announce that on October 7, 2025, at the age of 69, Mary Lou Payen of Portales, New Mexico, born in Odessa, Texas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her father Luis Flores; her siblings, Luis Flores, Dandy Flores and Linda Flores; and her sisters-in-law, Eva Armijo, Elva Aranda (Oracio), Stella Aranivas and Elfida Garduno (Estavan).
She is survived by: her son Chris; her daughter-in-law Amanda Padilla of Portales; her daughter Victoria; her son-in-law Mark Pena of Portales; her stepchildren, Aldaberto Payen of Hobbs, Jesse Padilla of Hobbs, Orlando Padilla of Hobbs, Norma Payen of Hobbs, Erica Roerson of Hobbs, April Padilla of Hobbs and Raquel Payen of Austin, TX; her grandchildren, Arielle Ables (Mason Warner), Adam Ables (Lily Dodge), Mason Pena and River Pena; her mother Maria Flores of Midland, TX; her siblings, Jerry Flores of Lubbock, TX, Glenda (Rudy Rodriguez), Gloria (George Hernandez) and Tisha Flores of Midland, TX; her siblings-in-law, Anita Payen of Portales, Olga Aldaz of Portales, Nina Payen of Portales and Eddie Armijo of Portales; and her niece Chama Garduno of Portales. She is also survived by numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Legacy Church (1427 E Amazon St, Portales, NM 88130).
