He was predeceased by: his wife Helen Garcia; his parents, Pablo Garcia and Ramona Ortega; his children, Cecilia Chavez, Beatrice Garcia and Manuel Garcia; his granddaughters, Bobbi Sisneros and Holly Garcia; his great grandchild Derek Garcia Jr.; and his siblings, Edwardo "Lalo" Garcia and Domie Rackler.
He is survived by: his former wife Helen Pena; his children, Diana Garcia of Portales, Irene Sanchez (Johnny) of Vaughn, Anthony Garcia (Sandra) of Santa Fe and Patricio Garcia (Amy) of Portales; and his brother Alejandro Ortega of Roswell. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
