With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Maria Salazar (Villanueva, New Mexico), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 3, 2025 at the age of 81. She was predeceased by: her parents, Andres Gallegos and Antonia Garcia; and her grandsons, Brian Padilla and Wilfred Gallegos. She is survived by: her husband Jose Armando Salazar; her sisters, Eva Villanueva, Berna Gallegos, Helen Jaramillo and Angela; her children, Jacob Salazar (Liza), Yolanda Salazar, Sandra Tafoya (John) and Patty Lehman; her grandchildren, Jacob Salazar (Bridget), Maria Gallegos (Lloyd), Deseree Salazar (Colleen), Jesse Salazar Navarrette (Amanda), James Padilla (Crystal), Joseph Padilla, John Tafoya Jr. (Marie), Gabriella Tafoya (Luke), Rebecca Tafoya (Ricky), Anastasia Tafoya, Canon Lehman (Joselyn) and Brooke Lehman; and her great grandchildren, Camryn Salazar, Brandy Chavez, Izabella Salazar, Jake Salazar, Adison Medina, Arianna Aragon, Zachariah Aragon, Evangelyn Gallegos, Alicia Gallegos, Melody Gallegos, Xander Salazar, Raylynn Varela, Jameson Nix, Aaliyah Nix, Gabriel Padilla, Ariella Padilla, Judah Padilla, Willow Padilla and Robyn Tafoya.
A rosary will be held on Tuesday, August 19th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Church (1228 NM-3, Villanueva, NM 87583). A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 19th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the same location.
