He was predeceased by: his parents, Barbara Maes (Dow) and Cirilio Maes; his siblings, Eddie, Hubert, Richard Maes, Irene Garrison, Barbara Reinhardt, Louise Irish and Agnes Chaves; and his grandson Christopher Maes.
He is survived by: his son Albert Danny Maes; his grandchildren, Bianca Gallegos (Tony), Aaron Maes (Faith), Kasandra Maes (Shiloh), Brian Maes and Brianna Maes (Christopher); and his great grandchildren, Alonzo Maes and Aaron Maes Jr..
