He was predeceased by: his parents, Mabel Shelby and Joseph Shelby; and his siblings, James Shelby, Elijah Shelby, William Shelby, Morgan Shelby, Robert Shelby, John Leon Shelby, John Henry Peer, Annie Mae Shelby, Ann Shelby and Laurella Stewart.
He is survived by: his son Maurice; his sister Geraldine Patrick; his brother-in-law Patrick; and his grandson Jah'zer Mayone Coleman-Tate. He is also survived by two great grandsons' and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, August 1st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Thomas and Jones Funeral Home (2457 N Decatur Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89108). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Greater Calvary Baptist Church (317 Madison Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89106).
