She was predeceased by: her mother Joyce Newman-Chester (Willie Chester Jr.). She is survived by: her husband Johnny Kendrick; her sons, Johnny D. Kendrick, Jonathan Akeem Kendrick and Markel Kendrick; her stepdaughter Monique S. Kendrick; her father Willie Chester Jr.; her brothers, Robin Chester (Ann) and Chris Chester; her cousin Una Harris; and also, Joyce Neman-Chester and Norma Lane. She is also survived by nieces, nephews.
