He is survived by: his wife Helen Diane Hoke; his children, Kristin Austin (Andrew), George Hoke (Dena) and James Hoke (Leslie); his grandchildren, Kimberly MacLeod (Tom), Shawn, Ryan, Justin, Brayden Hoke, Michelle Echols (Chris) and Ruben Villegas; and his great grandchildren, Joseph, Michael MacLeod, Audrey and Juliette Echols.
He was a member of The National Science Foundation Solar Eclipse Programs, Lifetime Frontier Horizon Charter Membership and had a passion for skiing, camping, hiking, and crossword puzzles.
