He was predeceased by : his parents, Harold Gay, Sr. and Dorothy Gay; his sister Shirley Smith; and his daughters, Jane Duarte and Jennifer Gay.

He is survived by : his wife Patricia Gay; his daughters, Katherine Escandon of El Paso, Susan Carabajal of Albuquerque, Nancy Gay of Albuquerque and Patricia Martinez (Henry) of Albuquerque; and his stepdaughters, Natalie, Antonette (Leo), Shienne, Marie (Dan) and Tiffany (Sean). He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
