He was predeceased by: his wife Judy Barger; and his sons, Joe Barger and Jeff Barger. He is survived by: his wife Judith Ann Dalton "Judy"; his daughter Jami Newman; his granddaughter Carly Lockman; his great grandchildren, Vivienne Lockman and Jude Lockman; and his brother Robert Barger.
Memorial donations can be made to Cardinals Care, a nonprofit created by the St. Louis Cardinals to provide baseball leagues, fields and equipment to underprivileged children.
