She was predeceased by: her parents, Stanley Michalewicz and RoseAnn Michalewicz (Cooney); and her sister Lynn Karlen. She is survived by: her former husband David Caviggiola; her children, Lindsay Buettner (Adam Meyer), Edgar and Stephanie Jorgenson (Christopher Przybylski); her grandchildren, Lance Caviggiola, Atreya Welch and Jadon Przybylski; her siblings, Sally Artus (Jerry), John Michalewicz (Terri) of Newnan, GA, David Michalewicz (Mary), Richard Michalewicz (Linda), Edgar and Kathy Jansen (Randy); and her brother-in-law Ron Karlen. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Karen's name.
