He was predeceased by: his parent Livingston L. Hayes; and his siblings, Donald L. Hayes and Charlotte Stern. He is survived by: his parent Marion Van Vorst Hayes; his nieces, Linda Babb (Charlie) of Searsport, ME, Holly Montone of Charlotte, NC and Lori Hayes Neifeld (Ira) of Wilton; his nephew Stephen Hayes (Janna) of Ballston Spa; his great-niece Sondra Montone of Saratoga Springs; his great-nephews, John Montone of Charleston, SC and Ethan Babb of Portland; and also, Robert Van Vorst (Meredith) of Scotia, Douglas Van Vorst (Mara), Emma, Jacob, Ethan of Charlton, Susan Van Vorst of Scotia and Kenneth Van Vorst (Michelle) of Denver, CO..
