It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Catherine Steele of Amsterdam, New York, born in Rome, New York, who passed away on December 9, 2020, at the age of 103, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ferdinand Petterino and Fortunata Petterino (Ridolfo); her husband Nash Steele; her son Frederick Meller; and her siblings, Joseph, James, Tony Petterino, Rose Urban, Carmella Morini and Barbara Moore.
She is survived by: her daughter Barbara Maniaci (Ross); her grandchildren, Kathleen Maniaci (Dennis McGough), Ross Maniaci (Susan), Matthew Maniaci (John Samuelson) and Jenny Leveille; her great grandchild Ana Rosaria Maniaci McGough; and her nieces and nephews, Abby Urban Rifkin (Marsha), Sandra Kaminski (Richard), Dawn Gates, Linda Moore, Robert and James Moore.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no calling hours or funeral services.
