It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David J. Mattas of Amsterdam, New York, who passed away on October 9, 2020, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Mattas and Stella Mattas. He is survived by: his wife Margaret "Peggy" Birch; his sons, David, Christopher (Rose) and Randy (Kathy); his goddaughter Stephanie Bellinger; his grandchildren, Lynn Parker (Jeff), Christopher Mattas, Matt, Rebecca, Amanda and Nicholas; his great grandchildren, William Mattas, Cheyann, Jeffery and Carson Parker; his great great grandchildren, Zander, Zena, Jayden, Caleb and Levi; his brothers, John and Jerry; and his pets, Muffin and Terry. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Due to COVID-19, masks and social distancing are required for all gatherings.
