It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gene Catena (Amsterdam, New York), who passed away on February 24, 2019, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Cornelio Catena and Antonette Catena (Vertucci); his wife Nancy; his child Cornelio (Lauri); his grandchildren, Gabriella, Gino (Emily), Cecilia, Michela, Alexandra, Gene, Carmen Lewis (Daniel), Giulia Tompkins (Shawn), Alessia Unger (Christopher), Thomas, Luke, Anna, Ryan, James, Kevin, Michael, Mary Claire and Nicholas; his great grandchildren, Jameson Catena and Odhran Lewis; his brother Cornelio, Jr. (Geraldine); his brothers-in-law, Joseph Aulisi (Marsha) and Michael Riccio; his sister Augusta Russo; and his siblings-in-law, Vincent Russo and Rosalie Riccio. He was also cherished by his wife, visited with many of his children and grandchildren.
