He was predeceased by: his parents, John Vitus and Sophie Vitus; and his son Richard. He is survived by: his wife Kathleen J. Dawson; his children, Christine Vitus-Lennon, John R. Vitus, Susan Skinner and David Vitus; and his sisters, Sally Phillips and Rosemary De Boer. He is also survived by three grandchildren; four great grandchildren.
