He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Howland and Clara Hawks Howland. He is survived by: his wife Donna Scafidi Howland; his son Christopher Howland (Sarah Faville); his granddaughter Natalie Howland of Amsterdam; his children, Kayla Howland of Amsterdam and Robert Howland Jr.; his grandchildren, Caleb, Evan and Payton Howland; and his siblings, Debi Becker (Howland) and Larry Howland. He is also survived by Nieces, Nephews and cousins.
