He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Bernat and Theodosia Pabis Bernat; his wife Pauline Urbelis Bernat; his son William Mark Bernat; and his siblings, Leo P. Bernat and Florence Bylebyl.
He is survived by: his daughters, Paulette Schwenke (Clifford) of Poinciana, FL and Diane Vecchio (Larry) of Hagaman, NY; his daughter-in-law Maureen Harrington Bernat; and his grandchildren, Nicholas Torani (Rachel), Melissa, Angela Kelly (Shaun), Morgan Bernat (Anthony) and Keegan Kovacik (Zachary). He is also survived by ten great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
