He was predeceased by : his mother Ruth Dunham Strobel; his stepfather LaVerne Strobel; his son Thomas Patrick Smith; his brothers, Gary Strobel and William Smith; and his sister-in-law Josephine Secondo Didsbury.

He is survived by : his wife Carole Secondo Smith; his daughter Cheri Grenier (Wayne) of Apalachian, NY; his grandchildren, Michael Grenier (Jessica), Jillian Grenier and Corinne Knapick (Bryan); his great grandchildren, Samuel Grenier, Eric Grenier and Hornell; his parents-in-law, Jerry Secondo (Margie) and Tom Secondo (Mary); and his siblings-in-law, Bernie Didsbury of Arizona and Sally Smith of Orchard Park, NY. He is also survived by several nieces & nephews.

Tom's family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name be made to Pulteney Free Library, Pulteney, NY or CareFirst Hospice, 3805 Meads Creek Rd., Painted Post, NY 14870.
