He was loved and cherished by many people including: his significant other Janice Martyn; his brother Harold Shoat; his children, Barbara Shoat, George Shoat III (Roxanne), Colleen Curl (Jonathon) and Melissa Shoat; his stepdaughter Mary Gray; and his grandchildren, Letisha Williams, Laquita Shoat, Thomas Tate, Jose Romero, Quintin Thomas, Christopher Romero, Derreck Tate, Ashley Jones and George Shoat IV. He was also cherished by great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, several nephews and nieces.
