He was predeceased by : his parents, Glenn Boyer and Catherine Boyer (Elizabeth T. Boyer); and his brother Charles Boyer. He is survived by : his wife Grace Brew Boyer; and his children, James Boyer (Roxanne), Susan Boyer-Reid (Richard) and Mary Kay Watkins (Mark). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Richards name may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
