She is survived by: her children, Esther Acosta, Luz Maria, Joel and Leonel. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Flerida's heart was also moved by the struggles of others, leading her to donate generously to organizations supporting diabetes, heart disease, and stroke research.
