He is survived by: his wife Tammy Nielsen; his children, Emily McCarthy (Jared) and Alex Nielsen (Becca); his grandchildren, Mia, Waylon and Walker; his parents, Peter Nielsen and Sue Nielsen; and his siblings, Leslie Brown (Karl), Lisa Harding and Kris Nielsen (Karen).
