He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick Lyman and Phyllis Lyman; his wife Marcia; his parents-in-law, Gordon and Marguerite Puffer; and his brothers, Nicholas, Daniel, Christopher and Phillip.

He is survived by: his son David (Mary) of Rochester; his brothers, Francis (Judy) of Annapolis, MD, Stephen (Ann) of Caroga Lake, NY and Jerome (Carol) of Miami, FL; and his sisters-in-law, Kathleen of Albany, NY and Deborah of Falls Church, VA. He is also survived by several other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
