He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Milton and Mary; his wife Carlene Emily Sloan; his children, Tracy Nelson (Charles Jr.) and Mark Sloan (Lisa); his grandchildren, Brady, Hannah and Logan; and his brother Gary Sloan (Joanne).

In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard's name may be made to the Roswell Park Alliance Foundation.
