He was predeceased by : his parents, Claude Donald Florence and Shirley Phyllis Florence (Spencer) of Canisteo; his sister Beverly Shorts (Richard "Dick"); his niece Elizabeth "Beth" Shorts Knight (Jim); and his daughter-in-law Caylee Nychis-Florence.
He is survived by : his wife Sally Ann Benedict; his uncle Harry Wentworth; his cousins, Thompson, Spencer, Wentworth, Gunn, Montgomery, Bixby, Gillis, Drake, Norma Conklin Dineen (Bernerd) and Jack Smith; his children, Shelly Florence of Canisteo and Dr. Brian Florence (Jill Bradbury) of Germantown, MD.; and his grandchildren, Dr. Spencer Florence of Boston, MA, Ian and Veronica Bradbury of Germantown, MD..
During the first year of COVID shutdown, he was sequestered at Elderwood without her.
